FOR HIS SAKE

What Junior Daughters Do

Make a promise of daily prayer and service to our Lord Jesus
Make a promise to be Christ's faithful servants and to extend His Love to all people
Work to grow in our Christian faith and commitment through fellowship, prayer and Bible study

Junior Daughters Prayer
God of Love, God of Life, God of Holy Strength, guide us, that by our daily practice of prayer and service we may draw others to Christ. Help us to reach up in hope, receive in spirit, respond in faith and reach out in love for all. We pray that your Kingdom will come for all creation, all people living together in love and peace. For His Sake. Amen.

Please keep in your prayers
All children who suffer from hunger and homelessness, illness and injury, abuse and abandonment; the men and women of our Armed Forces; all Junior Daughters and Directresses all over the world.

Everyone affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, including our sisters in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Texas.

Junior Daughter FAQ

1. Who are the Junior Daughters?
We are Junior members of the Order of the Daughters of the King.

2. What is a Junior Chapter?
A Junior Chapter is a group of three or more young women and girls who make a promise to pray daily and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. We are under the guidance and support of a Senior Chapter.  A Senior Daughter serves as the Directress and is our leader.

3. Who can join the Junior Daughters of the King?
Junior Daughters are girls and young women from 7 to 21 years of age. Membership is extended to all baptized girls.

4. Why become a Junior Daughter?
Our chapter gives us a special opportunity to grow in love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, while serving our church and community.  We experience the joy of belonging to Christian fellowship with friends and mentors.  We study the Bible, discuss our faith, support each other, and pray for the needs of our community and our world.

5. Do Juniors wear the Cross of the Order?
We wear a silver cross with the initials FHS – For His Sake – as a symbol of our promise. For Christ’s sake we pray, we serve, and we reach out in love to all.

Juniors On a Mission
Many of our Junior Daughters have gone on mission trips or have spent time in other countries. We want to recognize these young women who answer God's call to spread the Good News of Jesus in word and action.

Here are just a few examples:

Laura  - Trip to Panama
Mary - Trip to Nicaragua
Joanna - Trip to Honduras
Meredith - Trip to Mississippi

If you know of a Junior Daughter who has gone or will be going on a mission trip please let us know so we can recognize her and keep her in our prayers.

Panama 2007 Laura

For the past two summers, I have gone to Panama for a week long mission trip with the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. Our team consisted of 15 people; 10 adults and
5 young people. To me God’s face shines through young children. .........

The picture on the left is the final one of Laura and the children before leaving Arenosa.

.......I feel He is calling me to pursue mission work and tell everyone of His Love.
 I am planning on
taking a year off before college to do mission work. Then I will go to college for nursing

so I can be a full time missionary and proclaim the God’s Word wherever He calls me.

On March 11, I got the opportunity of a lifetime. I got to go to Nicaragua with my mom on a medical mission trip. We went with 11 other people from my mom’s medical school who are in a group called Patches of Love. The group collects homemade quilts for children in orphanages and also runs medical clinics for people in villages where there are no doctors......................... Read more
People say kids can’t do a lot to help others, but we can! By going to Nicaragua and making some friends there I brought some happiness to the people and showed them that there are others out there that really care about them. Thank you, God, for blessing me with this amazing experience.

Mission Trip to Mississippi for Katrina relief

I’ll be the first to admit it, when I first signed up for Trinity Episcopal’s mission trip to
Mississippi
; I did it for all the wrong reasons..............................

I had no idea what kind of life changing experience I was getting myself into.

Joanna from Maryland

It is commonly heard and recited that "God is love", but rarely do we get to see that statement truly in action and understand the sincere importance of it. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been witness to this verse (I John 4:10) for over a week when I traveled to Honduras this summer.
Truly God is love.......
