Organizational Structure of the Order of the Daughters of the King
Local Chapters
Organization begins at the local chapter level in a Diocese in a local church with at least three women who are communicants of the church. After completing twelve weeks of study and discernment, women who decide to become members of the Order, take life time vows to follow our Rule of Life - daily prayer, service and evangelism. Also, each member agrees to wear the Cross of the Order which is of the Greek fleury design inscribed with the Latin words "Magnanimeter Crucem Sustine" which reminds us that "with heart, mind, and spirit we uphold and bear the cross." We wear this cross just as a member of some religious orders wear a "habit". Chapters elect officers, President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer and write their own Constitution and Bylaws making sure they do not conflict with the national Bylaws.
Diocesan Assemblies
After three local chapters have been formed in the same Diocese, an Assembly may be formed. The Diocese elects officers, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers are responsible for writing and monitoring the Diocesan Constitution and Bylaws, organizing meetings and maintaining communication with the Diocesan Bishop or Clergy in charge.
Provincial Assemblies
Once a Province has three Diocesan Assemblies, a Provincial Assembly may be formed with Officers, President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and other officers as needed. They also have a constitution and Bylaws. In the Episcopal Church there are nine Provinces. Eight are assembled and the President of each Province serves on the National Council. The ninth Province includes Columbia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Litoral, and Honduras. Each Province holds an annual Assembly.

If you are a Daughter of the King outside of the United States and would like to connect with other women in the Order please email your respective contact person. She would happy to hear from you.
International Chapters may be formed in autonomous churches of the Anglican Communion or churches in communion with the Episcopal Church. A list of these churches may be found in the current edition of the Episcopal Church Annual. They may develop their own handbook and bylaws patterned after those of The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc., and adapted to the discipline and forms of their own church. Annual membership dues and contributions to the Funds are not required but the chapter and/or its members are encouraged to subscribe to The Royal Cross. The National Office maintains a separate list of International Chapters.
International Chapters are required to submit an annual report to the National Office of the Order (including a list of the officers and members of the chapters) until a diocesan or national organization is formed in the church of the International Chapter; then annual reports will be submitted directly to the International Chapter's diocesan or national organization.
International Chapters are strongly encouraged to maintain a close relationship with The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc., and to attend the Assemblies, the National meetings of the Order and to send representatives. They are welcome to participate in all activities and will have voice but no vote (Art. IV, Sec. 1, Para. D, Subpara. 5)
